This class introduces beginners to the principles of Pilates but will also suit those wanting to refresh their Pilates practice. Developed by it's founder, Joseph Pilates, Pilates is a complete form of exercise that works the whole body, re-balancing muscles, building core strength and improving physical health. Pilates helps build a strong core from which one can transition into new positions and exercises. This flow centres around control and precision, with a diversity of exercises and modifications to suit a range of levels from beginner to advanced. Pilates is one of the best investments you can make for your body and can be used in a PREhabiliative way (ensuring a stronger, more powerful body) as well as taking a REhabiliative approach to your health, fitness and wellbeing. Use it to enhance everyday activities or to complement and improve your sporting activities. This class will take you through the basic principles of Pilates and give you time and space to explore them in a bit more depth. WHAT DO I NEED? Wear comfortable clothes that are not too baggy and (for your comfort) without zips and buckles. A mat (if you are working on a hard floor). A chair (useful for balance) - as we incorporate standing leg work into this session to strengthen legs and Glutes. If you have a resistance band or perhaps a scarf then have that to hand too.
Please note that if you need to cancel and do so within 2 hours before your booked class starts you will be charged for it. We respectfully ask anyone on the Unlimited Subscription also cancels a class they cannot make even though you will not be charged for it.
