HOW IT WORKS

SIGNING UP FOR CLASSES

We operate an online booking system. All you need to do is click the link in our website and choose the payment option to prefer.

  • Once your account is set up you can buy your pass online and start booking in for all your favourite classes.

  • If a class is full, add your name to the waitlist. You will be notified if a space becomes available.

  • It’s easy to manage your account, make bookings or to make a cancellation online. However, remember, if you need to cancel a class, make sure you do so 2 hours in advance to avoid being charged.

  • If you have any problems booking or need help setting up Zoom please get in touch and we will do our best to assist you.

GETTING READY WITH ZOOM

  • Our online classes are conducted via Zoom, so if you haven’t already downloaded it then you can go to https://zoom.us/ and do so.

  • Once you have signed up for an online class either via the Space Fitness and Wellbeing website or via our Wix App a link to the session will be sent to your email address.

  • Please keep hold of this email and click on the link a few minutes before the start of the session.

  • If you haven’t received the link then please check spam/junk to make sure it hasn’t gone there. If you can’t find it (or have deleted it accidentally) don’t worry - please just drop an email to info@spacefitnessandwellbeing.co.uk and we will make sure another link is sent to you.

  • You will be let into the session a few minutes before it is due to start. As a courtesy to everyone else in the class, please make sure that you arrive on time.

SETTING UP FOR YOUR SESSION

  • Ideally use as big a screen as possible to get the most out of your session. The screen on a phone is a bit too small to really see what is going on.

  • Make sure that the microphone and video are turned on - this way your instructor can see you and make sure that you get the most out of your session. Below you will see that the microphone and video icons are bottom left of the screen but they could be in a different part of your screen.

  • You will be muted once the session commences (the instructor will do this) so that there are no distractions and you will just be able to hear the instructor. However, at the end of the session you will need to unmute yourself - the instructor cannot unmute you.

  • Have your screen set to ‘speaker view’.

  • Click ‘Speaker’ and also click ‘Fullscreen.'

  • You will need approximately 2-3 metres between you/your mat and your screen.

  •

  • Set your mat up sideways or diagonally on to the screen, NOT straight on to the screen - all we will see then is a close up of your feet!

  •

  • It usually works better to have the screen on the floor and angled up rather than high up and angled down.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

  • Please make sure you arrive in time so that you can get the most out of your class and to make sure you don’t disrupt other people’s enjoyment too.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Make sure the clothes you wear are comfortable and preferably zip free. No belts either as they will restrict your movement.

  • If you are doing a Barre or HIIT class you are liable to get quite hot and sweaty so we would recommend wearing layers so that you can strip off!

  • If you are taking private sessions  in our studio please wear Pilates grip socks.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

  • I offer 1:1 and 2:1 sessions. To book a private session (either online or at our studio in Burley Woodhead) please contact us directly to arrange a mutually convenient time.

  • Please take note that if you need to cancel a private session you need to make sure you do so 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged.

EQUIPMENT

       ONLINE CLASSES

  • You will need a mat (especially if you are on a hard floor). We sometimes use small equipment such as resistance bands and small balls which we sell in our online store if you don't have them. For the HIIT, Barre Pilates and Weights sessions you will need weights - heavier weights for the HIIT and Weights classes and lighter ones (water bottles /cans if you don't have light weights) for Barre. For Barre Pilates and Barre Express you will need to have a chair to hand to use for support.

       IN STUDIO

  • There is no need to bring anything with you.. just a ready smile. We provide mats and any other equipment you need for the session.

FITNESS LEVELS

  • We cater for all levels so it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, new to exercise or a seasoned athlete, we will have classes to suit you.

  • If in doubt as to which classes would be best for you please ask. We want to make sure you get the most out of your sessions at SPACE. Alternatively you might like to book a 1:1 to discuss your goals and work out a plan.

INJURIES & RECOVERING FROM ILLNESS

We work closely with trusted osteopaths, physiotherapists and other health professionals to make sure we deliver the right exercises for you.

  • Our team is experienced with dealing with all sorts of injuries and illnesses helping to get you back to optimum health.

  • If you are recovering from illness or an injury then you might benefit from an initial 1:1 session to make sure we fully understand your condition and can take time to discuss the most effective plan for you.

REFRESHMENTS

  • In the Studio there is water provided. Coffee and tea can be organised for you.

GIFT VOUCHERS

If you are stuck for a gift idea then why not treat someone to a SPACE gift voucher. You can pop any value from £10 on the voucher which is redeemable at Space Fitness & Wellbeing and valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
